This is a project I worked on during my internship at Tiktok. I often worked overtime and returning home with an exhausted body. In response, I wanted to design a product that could comfort and support office workers after a long day at work.
After research, I found that office workers have found heavy workload becomes more and more common in China. Many of them claim they have to work overtime to overcome the stress at workplaces, making them exhausted and anxious. Words like "corporate slave" (社畜) and "laborer"(打工人) have become popular and become self mockery of office workers in China. Many of them return home until late at night, hoping to relax after a long day.

My design concept inspired from a personal experience I had where I returned home to a dark house, feeling a profound sense of loneliness. When I turned on the lights, the sudden brightness made my eyes uncomfortable. In response, I designed a lamp simulating the process of sunrise that would provide a more comforting and gradual transition from darkness to light.
